I really enjoyed making this infographic for this assignment. There is a lot of research to support the use of graphic organizers in classrooms, and infographics are a great way to organize information. People are more likely to glance through an infographic for information than read through an article; so, it would be a great way to display information for not only class but professional development as well. Each time a person sees the infographic hanging in the office, he or she might read a different portion, and it may inspire him or her to try one new thing that day.
I had the challenge of deciding what information I wanted to include in my infographic and then organizing it in a logical way. An infographic requires you to use visuals rather than words and paragraphs to display the information. You also need to find away to use graphics and very short sentences or phrases to display the information. I tend to want to include everything when I create an infographic; so it was difficult for me to simplify it to the essential items.
Students could use this infographic for review. They could also create their own infographics to review information for a test or final exam. It would also be great practice for them for when they want to create a flyer for a club or provide information about a topic they would like their classmates to learn more about (for example, the genderbread person was created to explain gender identity).
